[Gallery] My Collection Over the Years

 

This is another post going down the nostalgia rabbit hole. I'm showcasing how I displayed my dolls over the years. I've lived in the same one bedroom apartment for about 4 years, which is when I got most of my collection. Later on I moved to a bigger place, but my buying impulses dwindled. Having a mortgage makes you put your dolls lower on the priority list.

I am currently living in another continent, and I have very few with me. Hopefully, one day, I'll ship them to myself to showcase them over here.

This picture is from January 2010. The doll to the far right still belongs to my sister Darkiesoul.

The one in pink was part of a trade with the super talented Tiny Cute Things. Isn't she adorable?! She made a girl just the way I wanted. Super impossibly cute.

The other one was named Maija, and she was another trade with Tiina Vanhatupa. Very fierce! She customized her that way because she knew I like Scandinavian metal.

They're both now with my sister Chu.

Martin is 10 years old!! How long time passes. I gave him a new face-up. He had the last of my watercolor pencil face-ups and he upgraded to acrylics. Also gave him a manicure.

This is the poor Regen head I had floating around ever since I joined the hobby. I could not find a role for him in my crew, and I even tried giving him away as a gift to someone in the States. The head returned to me... So I thought it was a signal to keep it. Now he's the guitar player of my future metal band.

So much work to do... (He's borrowing Coltrane's body here). I think he looks good with those eyes.

I bought some fantastic angora wigs back in the day from a Russian bjd collector, alias Eclipse21. I remember she holding a contest, in which we had to submit pictures showing off her creations. The winnger could get a free wig. These were my entries (spoiler: I didn't win).
